A typical summer festival in Japan, more specifically Kagoshima, involves yukatas (which are lightweight kimonos that are quite cool to wear in higher temperatures), street foods and of course fireworks. This particular festival (Rokugatsudo) is one that is held every summer (July) in shrines displaying lanterns. These lanterns are hand drawn/painted as you may see in the pictures. You may enjoy lots of yummy treats such as grilled squids, corn, okonomiyaki, cheese mochi, satsuma age, other grilled meats, and lots of sweet yummy treats. We even had some chicken kebab. Hmmm.
